TEANIA - ACCESS STATEMENT
Teänia is a purpose built, detached, granite-faced, traditionally slated, double-glazed cottage, specially designed for island holidays is located in the smallest of the three hamlets on St Martin's, Lower Town.
Owned and personally cared for by Dawn and Keith Bradford who live next door, Teania, Tee-ah-knee-ah', named after our two children Tean, 22 and Tania, 19, comprises two spacious double or twin bedded rooms on the ground floor, both with en-suite facilities, and a light, conservatory style entrance hall, leading to a hundred square metres of secluded south facing decking with garden furniture.
The fully equipped kitchen will more than satisfy the demands of contemporary family entertaining alternatively, there are many eateries to choose from on St Martin’s.
Long, white sandy beaches are within minutes walk from the cottage.
By Ship From Penzance
The Scillonian passenger ferry sails once a day from Penzance to St Mary's and once a day from St Mary's to Penzance (there are no sailings on a Sunday). The journey takes approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes. There are regular flights throughout the season leaving Bristol, Exeter, Southampton, Newquay and Land's End, from Monday - Saturday (there are no flights on a Sunday).
The flight takes 60 minutes from Exeter, 30 minutes from Newquay and 20 minutes from Land's End. The operating company is The Isles of Scilly Steamship Company. Taxi/Minibus From St Mary's Airport To St Mary's Quay
The operating company for this service will be contacted and advised of your arrival and will transport you to the quay accordingly. All cost payable direct to the operating company.
Boat To St Martin's (St Mary's Boatmen's Association)
St Martin's boat service offers scheduled boats from St Mary's to St Martin's at 12.30 and 15.30, however, special boats can be arranged at an approximate cost of £60 each way. All costs payable direct to the boatman.
We will be more than pleased to arrange groceries and provisions you may wish to be placed in Teänia prior to your arrival via St Martin's Stores. Please email the store direct email@example.com giving at least one weeks notice. St Martin's Stores will endeavour to meet all your requirements.
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
Upon arriving at St Martin’s we shall meet you at the quay and transport your luggage to Teänia, which is approximately 2 minutes walk from Lower Town Quay. If you are arriving at Higher Town Quay this is approximately 30 minutes walk, however we will meet you in our vehicle and take you to Teänia.
There are no car parking facilities, as visitors to the island of St Martin's are not permitted to bring vehicles.
Entrance Hall: 9'2" x 7'6" (3.8m x 3m) - Conservatory style porch with mosaic tiled floor with a granite top cabinet containing beach towels and an emergency night light. The stairs leading to the first floor have a natural sea grass covering, one step from porch to the tiled corridor leading to Bedroom One and Bedroom Two.
Bedroom One: 15'0" X 10'9" (4.55m X 3.27m) - Maple/ash wood laminate flooring, two 6'3" x 3'0" hand-made hotel classic zip & linked mattresses with divans, television with sky link, granite top cabinet, two granite top bedside tables with lamps, panel heater, large double closet with additional bedding, hairdryer, laundry basket, iron and ironing board. Heat detector.
Bedroom Two: 12'2" x 10'8" (3.70m x 3.25m) - Maple/ash wood laminate flooring, two 6'3" x 3'0" hand-made hotel classic zip & linked mattresses with divans, television with sky link and integrated DVD player , two granite top bedside tables with lamps, granite top cabinet, panel heater, closet with additional bedding and hoover. Heat detector. External door leading to the back of Teänia where five colour coded bins reside.
En-Suite Bathroom to Bedroom One: 11'8" x 4'3" (3.56m x 1.30m) - Fully tiled, floor to ceiling, bath, over-head power shower, basin & toilet. Extractor fan, down heater, heated towel rail, bin, towels, bathrobes and a selection of toiletries are supplied.
En-Suite Shower Room to Bedroom Two: 9'0" x 2'10" (2.75m x 0.85m) - Fully tiled, floor to ceiling, power shower, basin & toilet. Extractor fan, down heater, heated towel rail, bin, towels, bathrobes and a selection of toiletries are supplied.
Corridor: Maple/ash wood laminate flooring, panel heater, fitted cupboards with blue pearl granite work tops comprising additional laundry, books, games, DVDs, one fridge, one freezer, information folder and additional island information, books, a music system, CD's, sewing kit and binoculars.
Living/Dining Area: 15'8" x 14'0" (4.77m x 4.27m) - Maple/ash wood laminate flooring, large comfortable 7 seater leather sofa with cushions, one granite top coffee table, two granite top side tables with lamps. Granite top dining table and six leather dining chairs, large television with Sky, Sky Box and DVD player, panel heater, monocular with stand. Hight adjustable leather and chrome swivel chair.

Open Plan Kitchen: 12'2" x 11'0" (3.7m x 3.35m) - Maple/ash wood laminate flooring, fitted cupboards with blue pearl granite work tops, fridge, electric hob, double oven & extractor fan, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, Nespresso machine, toaster, juicer, breadmaker, cutlery and crockery for 8/10 persons, baking equipment and cooking books. Smoke detector.
A washer/dryer is situated in the Kitchen on the first floor, an iron and ironing board is supplied in the closet of Bedroom One.

Our Island Hall offers a wide range of facilities, fitness gym, sports hall, reading room and doctors surgery. Access to free WiFi is also available. Functions can be held at the Island Hall. There is an outdoor tennis court based at Higher Town, please visit St Martin's Post Office & Stores to book and pay for the use of the court.

Grounds and Gardens
A large (hundred square metres) of secluded south facing decking with table, parasol and six chairs and four loungers. A delightful array of plants in large pots and plant holders.
Teänia is a NO SMOKING establishment, however no restrictions are made in the private decking area, there is an ashtray under the kitchen sink.
No pets are allowed.
We are unable to accommodate more than the maximum of four adults, however, a travel cot or fold-up bed is available at a weekly cost of £125 and £250 respectively, inclusive of linen.
All bed linen and towels are provided. A mid-week change and general clean can be arranged if prior notice is given at an additional cost.

In the event of a fire, please go immediately to the assembly point being in front of Apple Tree Cottage garage blue/green doors, when you leave Teänia close all doors behind you, Keith and Dawn will then contact the emergency services. Do not re-enter Teänia unless authorised to do so by the leading fire officer.
